Repairing Dell Laptop Hinge.
Posted by admin on Saturday Jan 28, 2012 UnderDell gadgets which include laptops, desktops and printers are some of the most common brand names today. Just like any other electronic device, they are prone to experience technical difficulties. If a dell laptop hinge breaks, it becomes impossible for the screen to support itself. There is therefore the need of repairing the broken hinge The following are step by step instructions on how to go about this. You will first of all need to have the right tools at hand. Step one: In case you don’t have a small set of thumb screws, you will need to purchase them as they will be used to hold the lid surface in place. First, flip your laptop to open. Then hold the top position in place. This gives you the chance of measuring the size of the lid support. Normally, a size of six to seven inches is okay. Note, if you have a Dell D820, you might have to remove battery for d820 to access the hidden screws. Step two: Hold the lid support against the side and lift the lid of the laptop. Then make a mark on the place that you will put the support. With a sandpaper or any abrasive device, scratch the surface of the laptop. This will ensure that the glue will stick well and hold even much firmly. Step three:On the edge of the laptop, add an extra amount of glue. With much care and gentleness, lay the lid support in place. Press lightly and give time for the areas to dry completely. After the area has completely dried, repeat this step on the portion of the screen of your laptop. Step four: Install the slider and the remaining lid support in place. This will allow the thumb nail screw to go into the middle of the slider thus connecting directly into the pieces that were glued onto the laptop. This is done so that the hinge effect can be created. Those are the four basic steps in repairing a dell laptop hinge.
